2025-2026 TRYOUT INFORMATION

REGISTRATION & ARRIVAL INFORMATION

1. Advance registration is required for tryout participants. Players not registered by May 1st, 2025 at 11:59pm may not be permitted to participate.

2. Tryout participants do not need to start at the BB level for age groups U13/15/18. Participants should consider the team/level that is appropriate for them to begin tryouts based on their individual skill level. However, tryout participants for each team/level must attend the first tryout session for that team (U13BB Tryout #1 or U13B Tryout #1). All FINAL tryouts for each BB and B team are by invitation only. Participants may not join tryouts for a team after the first tryout unless granted permission in advance by the coach.

COLGHA will look to offer U11B/BB, U13BB, U13B, U15BB, U15B, U18B, U18BB for the 2025-2026 season pending registration numbers and player/team abilities. U9B and Senior A/B/C tryouts will take place in the fall, pending tryout packages purchased. 

3. The tryout registration fee paid covers participation for all teams within the age group. Players not invited to return to the FINAL tryout for a BB team, or who are not among the final selections for a BB team, may attend the first tryout session for the next team, without additional registration. 

4. The first few sessions for U11 and U13 teams have been divided into 2 groups: Group A is for players with last names that begin with A-L, while Group B is for players with last names that begin with M-Z. Some minor adjustments may be required after registration is closed - players will be contacted if adjustments are required. Please click on the website calendar ice time to view the group information.

5. Players should plan to arrive 30-60 minutes before the posted start time of the tryout session. All players must check-in with team volunteers in the foyer of the rink. Late arriving players may not be permitted entry.

6. Tryout jerseys will be assigned to each player and will be returned to the volunteer table after EACH skate. In the event a players tryout jersey is not returned, an additional $25 will be added to their season registration.

TRYOUT FEES & ELIGIBILITY

COLGHA will use a flat-fee registration system for PRE-SKATES and/or TRYOUTS. All participants will register only once and pay the same registration fee regardless of the level at which they start tryouts. 

***PRE-SKATES are only open to Lightning Players/Goalies that were registered with Collingwood GHA for the 2024-2025 season AND have purchased a Tryout Package for a competitive team in 2025-2026.***

GAL-TENDERS

ALL Gal-Tenders are FREE for (Pre-Skates and) Tryouts, but are still required to register for the TRYOUT Package. Please choose offline payments- cash or e transfer. No Payment is required. Please note, there is ice time specifically allocated for GOALIE EVALUATIONS. ALL Goalies are expected to attend their Evaluation. 

1. To be selected to one of our U9, U11, U13, U15, U18 or Senior competitive teams for the 2025-2026 season, players must register for and participate in the tryout process. (Health exceptions for those unable to participate will be considered on a case-by-case basis and MUST be in writing prior to tryouts). 2. ALL players that currently belong to another OWHA association that are planning to attend Lightning TRYOUTS must log into our Ramp REGISTRATION portal to PURCHASE a Lightning 2025-2026 TRYOUT PACKAGE for their age division. Players who were registered with another OWHA association for the 2024-2025 season (or before) will require a valid Permission to Skate form issued by the current or last association. HARD COPIES ONLY will be accepted.

3. Players who have previously played with an Ontario Minor Hockey Association team and are planning to attend Lightning TRYOUTS must log into our Ramp REGISTRATION portal to PURCHASE a Lightning 2025-2026 TRYOUT PACKAGE for their age division. No further action is required, as long as they have never been registered with an OWHA association - otherwise a Permission to Skate Form is required. Players or parents will be expected to complete a waiver upon arrival. 

4. If selected to a COLGHA Competitive Team, registration with the COLGHA Lightning will trigger a release from the player’s previous association and the transfer of their membership to COLGHA. Players must ensure that all requirements for release from their previous association are met.

INVITATIONS TO RETURN & FINAL SELECTIONS

Players invited to return to the FINAL tryout of each team will be listed under the tab TRYOUT RESULTS 25/26. This tab can be found on our WEBSITE under the tab REGISTRATION. 

FINAL team placements will also be posted under the tab TRYOUT RESULTS 25/26.

Login to https://www.rampregistrations.com/login?v3=df4c7b09ce using the same email and password used to register the player. Players will be identified by their REGISTRATION ID#. To find your player’s REGISTRATION ID number, please follow these steps:

1. On the left-side menu click on TRANSACTIONS, and then TRANSACTION HISTORY.
2. Locate the registration for 2025-2026 Competitive Tryouts and record your REGISTRATION ID found near the top, under the price.
3. Write this number down as it will be used throughout the tryout process to identify players for Invitation to Return and Final Selection lists.
