Welcome to Collingwood Girls Hockey Association. Lightning Girls Hockey is turning 10 and we can't wait to Celebrate with you!!
Local League/House League games are played within the Simcoe Muskoka Girls Hockey League, SMGHL. This includes Collingwood, Barrie, Midland, Orillia and Huntsville. Players can expect 1-1.5 weekly practices; power skating and skill development included. Games are played on weekends for most age divisions. U15 and U18 schedules could be revised to include some mid week games. House (Local) League players will be evaluated in the fall and placed on a team. Where there are multiple HL teams in one division, COLGHA strives to create an equal point system among each team.
Competitive League games are played within the OWHL Southern League. Competitive Play is governed by the Ontario Women's Hockey League, (OWHL). Players can expect 1.5-2 weekly practices; power skating and skill development included in most divisions. Dry-land training and further development is based on team preference. League games are played mid week and/or weekends. The Travel loop is determined in the fall by the OWHA. Players that wish to tryout for a Competitive Team will participate in Spring Tryouts, April/May 2026 for the 2026-2027 season. Please review the TRYOUT INFORMATION 2026-27 on our WEBSITE.
