ABOUT US

Our Inaugural 2017/18 season was Amazing, with two successful Collingwood Lightning Atom and Peewee Local League Teams. Fielding five Local League teams in 2018/19 season, and another two competitive teams in 2019/20. Our fourth season proved a challenge with COVID restrictions and limited playing ability, however our registrations continued to increase in numbers and we were able to provide inter squad programming.

In 2021/22/23 we were able to provide all age divisions starting with our NEW U7 Little Lightning Program through Senior. We offered House League teams in every division, and competitive teams in U11 and Up, including a very successful Bauer First Shift Program.

As we gear up for our Eighth Season, we estimate further growth in our Bauer First Shift Program, Winter Fundamentals and U7 Little Lightning Program. If registration numbers support, we estimate teams of 1x U9B, 2x U9HL, 3x U11HL, U11B, 3x U13HL, U13B, 2x U15HL, U15B, U18HL, U18B, U18BB and 2x Senior B/C.

We are very honoured and proud to offer girls in the Collingwood and surrounding area of Georgian Bay an opportunity to play female only hockey in their community. It is our sincere wish to offer these opportunities to girls in a safe, fun and supportive environment. As we enter our Seventh season, please be patient as we continue to learn our roles and create further governance and executives that are exclusively operating and managing this association.

COLGHA is thrilled to offer hockey programs for girls of varying ages and skill levels.

FUNDAMENTALS/FIRST SHIFT

Our Fundamentals Program will continue to offer girls an opportunity to develop their skating and hockey skills without committing to a team. Our BAUER FIRST SHIFT Program application has once again been approved. The NHL/NHLPA First Shift program is designed to ensure a positive experience for new-to-hockey families by offering a low-cost entry program to hockey. More details and how to register available through the summer. Fitting date is set for November 11th 2023, with a 6 week on ice development program to follow. Our WINTER Fundamentals Program will commence after First Shift in January.
