Covid MEMO

Nov. 17, 2021

Hello Lightning Families,

As we are experiencing an increase in COVID-19 cases locally including a school outbreak, we feel that it is an important time to review Public Health guidelines regarding hockey and COVID-19.

For unimmunized players:

  1. If a player is exposed to COVID-19 (ie classmate, family member, someone on their school bus has COVID-19) then they must self-isolate for 10 days from your last exposure.
  2. If a player has symptoms that could be caused by COVID-19 including fever, cough, loss of taste and/or smell, difficulty breathing, vomiting, diarrhea, muscular pains, they must self-isolate until having a negative test and symptoms resolve.
  3. If a player tests positive for COVID-19 they must self-isolate/quarantine for a minimum of 10 days or longer if directed by Public Health.
  4. Self-isolation means no contact with your team.

For immunized players and team staff:

  1. If exposed to COVID-19 and develop symptoms, they must self-isolate, get tested, if negative can stop self-isolation when symptom-free for 24-48 hours; if test is positive they must self-isolate for 10 days or longer if directed by Public Health.
  2. If exposed to COVID-19 and does not have symptoms, consider getting tested, self-monitor for symptoms and self-isolate if any symptoms in the subsequent 10 days.
  3. If has symptoms of COVID-19 they must self-isolate and get tested; if test is negative may stop self-isolation when symptoms have been improving for 48 hours; if test is positive must self-isolate for a minimum of 10 days or longer if directed by Public Health.
  4. Self-isolation means no contact with your team.

As always, our goal is to provide a fun and safe atmosphere for our girls to play hockey.  We acknowledge that hockey provides a positive experience in these challenging times and we hope that by following safety guidelines, we can keep our season going.

Please be an active participant in maintaining our hockey season.

All the best, COLGHA Executive
