End of Season Lightning Update
Submitted By Ivy Martin on Monday, April 5, 2021
Greetings Lightning Families,

As announced Thursday afternoon, we have entered a Province-wide "Emergency Brake" Shutdown. This shutdown will last for a minimum of 4 weeks.

The Town of Collingwood Recreation Facilities will be closed until restrictions allow for reopening.

We are saddened to announce that the COLGHA has decided to cancel the remainder on the 2020/21 hockey season. We had hoped to push through until May/June, however under Red restrictions, limited number of players allowed on ice and double the volunteers required to run our programs safely we felt it was the right time to focus our efforts towards next season.

We would like to thank all of our Lightning volunteers for their tremendous efforts this season. It would not have been possible without you and we are extremely grateful for your commitment to our Lightning players.

Thank you to our Lightning players and families for adapting and supporting our decisions this season. Your patience and positivity created the best possible environment for continued hockey development.

We strongly encourage our players to seek out alternative activities and stay active outdoors. There will be many hockey opportunities for those that would like to continue through the spring/summer.

Please keep an eye on your emails and our website for 2021/22 Registration. We hope to open registration by June.

A virtual COLGHA AGM is scheduled for Thursday May 13th at 7:30pm. Details to come. Please consider joining our team and assist in shaping the Lightning organization as we enter our 5th year in operation.

All the best to you and your families. Stay connected, stay healthy. We are optimistic we will all return to each other and the game we love.

Cheers, COLGHA
