Thank you for your patience, support and flexibility during this challenging time. The COLGHA continues to prioritize your safety and well-being over playing hockey. While we all agree hockey is important to your daughters and to us, we also acknowledge the difficult position of making decisions that affect our extended hockey families, and our community.
for a Return to Hockey March 1st. Please understand that if we feel the benefit of returning to the rink is far too risky for our players, or the direction from the TOC and SMDHU changes, we will pause our plans.
It is important to note that we are in constant communication with one another and are monitoring the numbers, as well as all news sources. If our area returns to Grey Lockdown, we will update you as soon as possible.
Here is what you need to know for our return;
1. Players/Staff MUST submit their Covid Questionnaire through the RAMP APP prior to entering the arena. Please remember there is a section under the players name to add the guardian as a spectator.
2. Players/Guardians/Staff must check in at the door 15 minutes before their scheduled ice time. Arena staff will provide a sign in sheet. Everyone that enters the arena MUST sign in.
3. Arena staff will meet players/guardians at the door and direct you to a station in the lobby. Players will put on their skates and helmet. Once the previous group has left the arena, facility staff will direct players/guardians to another station in the rink. Players will take their belongings with them. You will have 10 minutes to vacate the arena after practice.
4. 10 participants on ice plus 2 Coaches. No exceptions.
5. No dressing rooms, players MUST arrive fully dressed. We understand Goalies OR Players that drive themselves will have difficulty following this rule. In this case, please come with your under-layer on and as much equipment on as possible. No exceptions for other participants. Please do not undress at the rink after practice.
6. 1 parent/guardian per skater permitted, please do not bring siblings. If childcare is not an option, the sibling MUST remain at the players chair/station at all times.
7. Coaches AND Players (and guardians) must wear a mask AT ALL TIMES, on and off the ice. Players may forgo their mouth guard to accommodate their mask.
8. Water bottles MUST remain at the player's chair/station.
9. Guardians MAY NOT move about the arena, they must remain at their player's chair/station.
10. In the event your player requires water, they will leave the ice and drink water at their chair/station.
11. Arena Staff, Coaches, Managers and Den Mothers reserve the right to deny entrance and/or request players leave the arena if they are not following guidelines or protocols. Please do not put them in this position.
12. Please review this with your player!
All ice time is at Central Arena until further notice. There is limited ice available. Each team will have one ice time per week for fun, exercise and development (your daughters ‘team’ is the group she played with during our Nov/Dec games). Under Red Control, games and/or scrimmages are not permitted.
The Collingwood Girls Hockey website has been updated with the new schedule for the first two weeks of our return. When in doubt always check the master schedule on our website. Your players RAMP APP schedule should be up to date as well.
We look forward to inviting the girls back to hockey and we cannot wait to see you!
All the best, COLGHA
