We Miss you!
The COLGHA wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all of the players and families that have taken the time to share a letter of thanks to our sponsors and community partners. Thank you for your photos and videos towards our Lightning Cheer Campaign. It's so great to hear from you all! We hope that you and your families are safe and healthy at this time.
While recognizing that hockey is far from the priority right now, we promise to provide more information as it becomes available. In the meantime, please take care of one another.
Spring Tryouts Cancelled by OWHA
The OWHA released a statement that included the following important information: The health and safety of all participants in the sport is of the utmost importance to the OWHA. As such, tryouts for the 2020-21 season will not be conducted this Spring. Instead the OWHA will provide guidance on when the introduction of the 2020-21 season will begin, subject to the Hockey Canada Board of Directors’ future decision when to reinstate all Hockey Canada-sanctioned activities. Such introduction will take into consideration ice availability, capacity and other logistics involved in organizing hockey programs."
You can find the full OWHA statement here:

It will take a while of course to fully determine when tryouts will start, what the process will look like, and what impact (if any) this will have on the start of the 2020-2021 season.
Other End-Of-Season Impacts:
Our Board of Directors continues to gather the information required to wrap-up our 2019-2020 season. We are planning a virtual meeting to consider all of the impacts, and should have more information shortly. Further information will be provided in the coming weeks regarding, jersey/equipment return procedures and a change in date of the Annual General Meeting (originally scheduled for April 15th). Further to this our End of Year Banquet scheduled for April 17th has obviously been cancelled.
We hope to celebrate with you at a later date. It's pretty safe to say that getting back on the ice will be a celebration in itself. Thank you once again to all of our Lightning players, families, coaching staff and community partners for an amazing season. Please stay healthy and safe. All the best, COLGHA
