The Bill McCreary Charity Golf Classic was started in 2016 to recreate the atmosphere of hockey meeting golf, and to raise money for the local community.
Bill is a Class of 2014 Hockey Hall of Fame member, honoured for refereeing 1737 regular season games, 297 playoff games, and the Olympics, including some of the most important and memorable games of all time. Bill retired from on ice officiating in 2011 after 29 years, but still works for the NHL as a supervisor of officials.
The Collingwood Girls Hockey Association is the proud beneficiary of $10,000. This money was used to purchase four new sets of jerseys, both Home and Away for our Lightning players. We are humbled by the support the Bill McCreary Charity Golf Classic has shown towards the growth of girls hockey in South Georgian Bay.
Thank you for the JERSEYS, thank you for the continued support and thank you for highlighting GIRLS IN SPORT!
